R.D. Olson Construction, a general contracting firm in California specializing in hospitality, multi-unit, education, and mixed-use construction and management, has signed a lease with Irvine Company for 13,354 square feet at 400 Spectrum Center Drive in Irvine, California, for its headquarters. With this lease, the property is now 65 percent leased.

400 Spectrum Center is located in the center of Irvine Spectrum, a well-known live-work-play community adjacent to a variety of housing choices and Irvine Spectrum Center, which offers 1.2 million square feet of retail, restaurant, and entertainment options.

Both 200 and 400 Spectrum Center towers offer two Irvine Company signature amenities: The Commons, an open-air gathering place featuring casual workspaces, an outdoor living room, and complimentary Wi-Fi; and KINETIC, which blends a state-of-the-art on-site fitness center and wellness services and is across the street from the St. Joseph Hoag Health Wellness Corner at The Village apartment homes. Showers, lockers, and covered bicycle storage are part of the office amenities.

The towers feature the design of architect Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, with 10-foot, floor-to-ceiling glass providing natural light and unobscured 360-degree views. 200 Spectrum Center, which opened last year, is fully leased.

The Patio Marketplace, led by Chef Amol Thanky, will open at 400 Spectrum Center in fall 2018. This will be the first Patio Group restaurant to feature an exhibition kitchen to provide patrons a more personal and interactive dining experience. The café connects to an adjacent conference center and The Commons.

R.D. Olson Construction, which specializes in both renovations and ground- up construction, on restaurants, healthcare and higher education, built the Courtyard by Marriott Irvine Spectrum and the full-service Irvine Spectrum Marriott, both of which are walking distance from its new headquarters.

“It’s exciting to be walking distance from two of our marquee new projects,” says Bill Wilhelm, president of R.D. Olson Construction. “The building will help us enhance our brand, and the amenities will inspire our associates as we continue to recruit and retain top talent within the industry.”
