Many Moves at Kidder Mathews
Kidder Mathews has made a variety of executive changes at its San Diego and Orange County offices.
Eric Thies has joined the firm’s San Diego office as an SVP, where he will focus on investment properties. Thies has 38 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. His expertise is in institutional and government property sales and leasing. Prior to joining Kidder Mathews, Thies was with Burnham Real Estate in San Diego. His notable clients include Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, Federal Housing Administration, and Government Services Administration.
In the Orange County office, Cini K. Apostol, CPM®, RPA®, CCIM, has been named SVP of operations for Kidder Mathews’ property-management services in the Southern California and Southwest regions. In this new role, Apostol will integrate new team members, assignments, and clients into the Kidder Mathews’ platform, ensuring quality control in service delivery. Apostol is a CPM®, RPA®, and CCIM and has nearly 30 years of commercial real estate experience. Her background includes fourteen years as a Kidder Mathews’ market leader in Portland. Her contributions have been instrumental in the best-practices and platform development that are the foundation of the firm’s property-management services. Apostol is a former board member of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) and Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). Additionally, she chaired the BOMA Education Committee for four years, chaired the IREM Forecast Breakfast for two years, and, in 2013, received IREM’s Board Member of the Year award.
Also, veteran broker Jim Auther has joined Kidder Mathews Orange County office as an SVP, where he will specialize in the sale and leasing of retail properties. Auther has 42 years of experience in retail commercial brokerage and development. He has represented development groups such as Lewis Retail Centers, The Irvine Company, and Vestar Development. He has been involved in more than 100 store transactions for clients including Olive Garden, Burger King, Red Robin, and Shakey’s Pizza. Prior to joining Kidder Mathews, he was with Coldwell Banker Commercial Advisors in Irvine.
Lastly, Angela G. Mettler has joined Kidder Mathews’ Orange County office and has been named a VP.Prior to joining Kidder Mathews, Mettler was with REMM Group in the Greater Los Angeles area, where she managed a 60-building portfolio. Before that, she was with CIM Group in Los Angeles, where she oversaw a mixed-use portfolio consisting of 25 projects (1,700 units) and 1 million square feet of commercial and development sites. Mettler has her RPA® certification from Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) and serves as EVP for BOMA Orange County.
Tangram Adds New Business Developer
Tangram Interiors has hired Hope Ramirez as new business developer in the firm’s Newport Beach, California, office and showroom. Ramirez most recently served as territory manager covering Orange County and the Inland Empire for Milliken & Company, a diversified provider of specialty chemicals, floor coverings, and performance materials. She previously worked in business development in Orange County for Exemplis, a made-to-order seating manufacturer.
“We are excited to have someone of Hope’s caliber and experience as part of our team,” says Dirk Manning, Orange County general manager for Tangram. “Her record of success will translate seamlessly to her new responsibilities in connecting marketplace customers and influencers with Tangram’s array of resources and capabilities.”
Ramirez says, “My goals are to help generate strong sales growth, expand existing customer relationships, introduce new relationships and further the Tangram brand in each of the market segments served by the company.”
New Industrial Specialist for Colliers
Erika Brooks has joined Colliers International San Diego Region as an associate VP specializing in industrial property sales and leasing in East County San Diego. Brooks will be based in the firm’s UTC office.
According to Andy La Dow, managing director of Colliers International San Diego Region, “Erika’s market knowledge and track record of helping clients achieve their commercial real estate goals will further enhance our firm’s presence in East County San Diego.”
Brooks holds more than 14 years of commercial development, market research, sales, leasing and property management experience in San Diego County. She was most recently affiliated with Pacific Coast Commercial and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from California State University, San Marcos.
