Nominations Open for SPIRE Awards

The Orange County Chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW-OC) has opened a call for nominations for its annual SPIRE awards program, which recognizes superior performance in real estate by teams and individuals in the Orange County market, according to a release from a representative of CREW-OC.

The statement says CREW-OC SPIRE Awards honor recipients in nine categories, including: Women in CRE, CRE Emerging Leader, MVP Service Provider, New Construction, Building Renovations, Tenant Improvements, Leasing, Sales, and Philanthropy. Nominations will be accepted through Feb. 1, 2019. Those interested in nominating an individual or team may do so at www.crewocspireawards.com.

The Emerging Leader and MVP Service Provider awards are new for this year, according to Elise Puritz, director of business development at MHP Structural Engineers and co-chair of the CREW-OC SPIRE Awards Committee. Puritz is quoted in the release as saying, “These additions provide a recognition platform for the service providers and young professionals whose contributions are instrumental to advancing the Orange County real estate market.”

SPIRE co-chair Sharon Kline, EVP of Debt and Structured Finance with CBRE, is quoted as saying, “The SPIRE Awards highlight individuals and teams whose commitment to service and personal integrity are setting the standards for our industry. We are looking forward to a strong group of nominees to reflect the 2018 transaction climate.”

According to the statement, winners will be announced at the SPIRE Awards Gala, which will take place on March 21, 2019 at the Samueli Theater in Costa Mesa, California. This year’s keynote speaker is Lynn Jochim, co-COO at Five Point Holdings, LLC. Eric Paulsen, managing principal of Cushman & Wakefield, will return to entertain the audience as Master of Ceremonies.

The SPIRE Awards judges include: Sandra Vaughan-Acton, director of real estate development, Cal Poly Pomona Foundation; John Combs, principal, RiverRock Real Estate Group Inc.; Kristen Croxton, SVP originations, Capital One Multifamily Finance; Marissa Kasdan, director of design and research, KTGY Architecture + Planning; Jo-E Lopez, VP, business development, Snyder Langston; John Mehigan, SVP, senior market officer, Regency Centers; Dave Pintar, director of project development, C.W. Driver;
Michelle Schierberl, EVP, Retail Investment Services, Colliers International; Perry Schonfeld, COO, LBA Realty; Kurt Strasmann, and executive managing director, CBRE.
