Auction.com Brings on New COO
Auction.com has hired Min Alexander as COO, replacing Javid Jaberi. Alexander will lead a team of 800 professionals who manage the sale of more than 140,000 exclusive listings annually. She will be a key influencer in the strategic development of Auction.com's marketing, data science, and technology initiatives. She reports to Jason Allnutt, general manager, Auction.com.
An 18-plus year real estate veteran, Alexander has a proven track record of managing residential real estate investments and driving sales performance and revenue, focusing on quality, innovation, and customer experience. Prior to joining Auction.com, she served as SVP of real estate services for Altisource, where she oversaw the business' real estate portfolio and auction services.
Alexander holds degrees from Duke University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School of Management.
CBRE Promotes Exec in Asset Services
CCBRE has promoted Mark Butcher to managing director of asset services in San Diego. Butcher previously served as market leader and director of asset services in Albuquerque, New Mexico, before relocating to San Diego in January 2016.
Butcher is responsible for office, industrial, and retail properties totaling more than 13 million square feet under management and 75 employees. In his new role, Butcher will continue to create advantage for the company's investor clients by aligning the operational performance of their properties with their broader investment objectives.
Prior to joining CBRE in 2009, Butcher held various senior-level management positions of all asset types, including a regional mall and class-A office space on behalf of local and national investors. He earned his bachelor of arts degree from the University of Cincinnati, Ohio.
New EVP for JLL Capital Markets
JLL Capital Markets has hired veteran Derek Landry to join the company as an EVP. Landry comes from CBRE Global Investors, where he was a managing director of portfolio and asset management working on various separate accounts.
As a senior member of JLL's Capital Markets platform, Landry will be primarily focused on office-investment sales in Southern California. He will partner with G. Ryan Smith and is based in the firm's Irvine, California, office.
Landry brings more than 20 years of commercial real estate experience, primarily as a principal, with roles in portfolio and asset management, acquisitions, capital raising, finance, and dispositions. His experience ranges the risk spectrum from core to value-add and development.
Prior to CBRE, he was with TH Real Estate (formerly TIAA) for 12 years, holding various roles from portfolio manager to head of asset management — western region. He also worked in New York City doing value-add acquisitions, asset management, and dispositions for Max Capital (now Monday Properties) and Rockwood Realty Associates. He began his career with WCI Communities, a Florida-based homebuilder.
C.W. Driver Promotes in Operations
C.W. Driver Companies has promoted Brent Hughes to VP of operations, based in San Diego. In his new capacity, Hughes, who has more than 20 years of construction experience, will oversee projects in the retail, commercial, office, hospitality and gaming, mixed-use, and entertainment industries, in addition to spearheading signature projects across California. He also will provide leadership and guidance for project teams to ensure they are equipped with the necessary resources.
Hughes has served as a critical team member of notable company projects, including Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians' new casino and resort, Hollywood Casino Jamul, Hillsdale Shopping Center, North Block Redevelopment, and multiple projects for Qualcomm.
Hughes boasts a host of industry recognitions, such as the Builder's Choice Merit Award for 16th & Market Workforce Apartments, DBIA's National Design-Build Excellence Award for Quechan Casino Resort, and the Structural Engineers Association of San Diego's Landmark Structures Excellence Award for Qualcomm's world headquarters. Named Associated Subcontractors Alliance (ASA) Project Manager of the Year, Hughes holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from California State University, Fresno.
The Heritage Group Adds Senior Director
San Diego–based commercial real estate management and investment advisory firm The Heritage Group has hired Robert Kerr as a senior director. Kerr is a seasoned professional with more than 20 years of experience in commercial real estate, both in brokerage and appraisal capacities.
Kerr's knowledge, experience, and extensive background offer new and valuable insight to the team, providing specialties in the acquisition and disposition of all types of investment and owner-user properties and investment sales, including NNN, retail, industrial, and multifamily.
Prior to joining The Heritage Group, Kerr was the SVP of Coldwell Banker Commercial SC and VP of NAI San Diego Commercial Real Estate Services. Before pursuing commercial real estate, Kerr held both C-level and executive level positions in businesses ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies. With a financial and operations background, Kerr managed all facets of operations, including strategic business planning and implementation, performance optimization, P&L management, contract negotiations, VC funding, acquisitions/mergers/partnerships, customer relations, and strategic alliances throughout his career.
