TrellisWare Technologies, a privately held San Diego communications technology company, has signed a nine-year lease for 72,331 square feet of office space at Summit Pointe in the Scripps Ranch submarket of San Diego. Summit Pointe, located at 10641 Scripps Summit Court, is owned by Newport National Corp., a local commercial real estate developer.
TrellisWare Technologies is dedicated to improving and changing the design and performance of communications and signal-processing systems, delivering communications to military and commercial markets.
The class-A office campus is situated on 20.95 acres and has gone through extensive modifications since it was purchased by Newport National. Kidder Mathews broker David Crabb, along with Don Mitchell of Cresa, represented TrellisWare in the transaction.
Local news sources report that the Carlsbad, California–based owner purchased Summit Pointe in November 2016 from Atlanta-based HD Supply for approximately $31.3 million, according to Colliers International. At that time, Newport National was planning extensive interior and exterior renovations of the existing 146,549-square-foot building and had planned to develop a second new building on the site. The two-building campus was renamed Summit Pointe.
Crabb tells SoCal Real Estate that renovations have been completed on the site that are too numerous to list.
